PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has expressed deep grief over the loss of precious human lives in the recent earthquake in Iran, saying that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would stand by their Iranian Muslim brethrens in this hour of ordeal. 

The provincial minister on Thursday visited the Iranian Consulate in Peshawar and met the Iranian Consul General Hassan Darvesh Wind. Talking to the Iranian Consul General, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the people of Iran and Pakistan had closed religious and cultural relations and the recent deadly earthquake grieved them. He said that their people had very special love for the Muslim Iranian brethrens.

The Information Minister on this occasion prayed for early recovery of the injured and added that may Allah Almighty protect the people of Iran from such tragedies in future. He assured the Iranian Consul of all out support of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt.

Speaking on the occasion Hassan Darvesh Wind thanked the government and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their wholehearted support in their hour of trial.
