LAHORE – Lailatul Qadr, the holy night when first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed on Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed across the country including the City on Wednesday night with solemnity and reverence.

This is one of the holiest and most blessed nights when angels descend with the order of Allah Almighty for welfare of faithful till dawn. Those who spend his night in prayer, experience an unimaginable bliss as a result of immense heavenly blessings. This night occur on one of the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramazan and most likely on 27th.

Muslims spent the whole night at mosques while reciting the Holy Quran and praying for forgiveness from the Allah Almighty till Sehri.

The faithful offer collective prayers to seek forgiveness from Allah and divine blessing. Ulema and Khatib threw light on the significance of the night, fasting and Aitkaf. People distributed sweats among the neighbours and the poor.

The mosques and houses were decorated with colourful buntings and profusely lit with electric bulbs. The faithful arrange Milad, Zikr, Quran Khwani and religious discussions at mosques and their houses in line with the traditional practices as the night is better than 1,000 months.
