MULTAN - Auditor General of Pakistan Rana Buland Akhtar Khan has said that no institution including Army and the Judiciary are exempted from audit.

“We conduct audit of every department and send report to the parliament,” he added while talking to the journalists here at district audit office on Thursday. He said that if the registrar of Supreme Court did not appear before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), it was their issue and his department had nothing to do with this affair. He said that Supreme Court got conducted its audit on regular basis. To a query, he said that his department had conducted the audit of former district governments and a report was submitted to the government. “Now taking action against those who committed corruption is the responsibility of the government. We only point out and send the reports to either parliament or provincial assemblies,” he added.

volunteers for anti-dengue drive: The district administration has formed a team of volunteers to launch a massive dengue eradication campaign in Multan. The volunteers will go door to door to create awareness on dengue. The members of the team were given certificates during a ceremony held at Raza Hall by special assistant to Chief Minister Sultana Shaheen and DOC Nausheen Jamshed.

Speaking on the occasion, Sultana Shaheen said that the Punjab Government had made all out arrangements to eliminate dengue as machinery and medicine worth millions were imported for this campaign. She stressed upon the volunteers to participate enthusiastically in the campaign so that this deadly disease could be eradicated from the province.

DOC Nausheen Jamshed said that the district government had started fumigation drive but it could not become successful without masses cooperation. She added that the citizens needed to keep their homes and surroundings clean.
