LAHORE - The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz- on Thursday rejected the commission constituted by the NA Speaker to work out modalities for the creation of new provinces in Punjab.

PML-N Senator Pervaiz Rashid, who is also a spokesman of the Punjab government, said his party would not accept any commission aimed at division of Punjab alone. He said his party would call for the formation of what he called a national commission. It may be pointed out that President Zardari had sent a reference to the NA Speaker with the directive that she should appoint members from both houses of the parliament. The NA Speaker had asked the Punjab Assembly Speaker, who belongs to the PML-N leader, to nominate two members for the commission.
