There is no dearth of primary schools in our country and with the collaboration of the private sector, the facility has become manifold. Kindergarten, nursery schools are brewing like mushrooms in various parts of each province. The private sector is, however, better equipped with proper buildings, educational environment and competent teachers.

The government increases the budget for education ever year, and each government plans for educating children in the country. Despite all these efforts and commitment, the goal of ‘education for all’ is yet to be achieved. The dropout rate in government primary schools is higher than in private schools. The concept of ghost schools and fake appointment of teachers has dampened the spirit of parents who feel reluctant to send their children to schools run by the government. The absence of teaching material, lack of drinking water, non-existence of washrooms, broken structure of the building and dirt and dust are the other main discouraging factors. Private schools are flourishing in admissions each year because they are mindful of facilities and exercise strict supervision over all educational matters.

Early childhood education has much more potential in the present age of knowledge and information technology. The study of different successful models of early childhood education and development being practised in different countries concludes that discipline is the key to success.
