KARACHI  - The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, has directed that extraordinary security arrangements be made for the Eidul Fitr. He also called for devising a contingency plan for this very purpose.

The IGP instructed that police personnel be deployed at mosques, Eidgahs and Eid congregations at open places and Imambargahs besides central shopping centres, markets, bazars, parks, recreation places and at beach.  He directed that the deployment of the police personnels should be at conspicuous places. The IGP also instructed that there should be police picketing in the province and at the entry and exit points especially in the city of Karachi. Arrangements be made for snap checking, surveillance and patrolling in sensitive areas.

He also stressed that there be patrolling on the highways and check posts be set up for the security of the passengers.
