ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will monitor pacer M Aamir's performance in the forthcoming National Twenty20 Cup 2015-16 to be staged at the Pindi Cricket Stadium from September 1 to 15.

The qualifying round will be held from September 1 to 5 while the National T20 Tournament will be played at from September 8 to 15. A Rawalpindi Region official has said that Aamir, who was banned from International cricket for a period of five years, is all set to make his comeback in the international cricket soon as his ban ends in September this year.

He said: “The national team already lacks pace bowlers and with the inclusion of Aamir in the squad, it will strengthen fast bowling department. The PCB is keeping an eye on his performance and he is expected to get a ticket to international cricket soon.”

He said Aamir would be representing Rawalpindi Rams in the National T20 and the region would also monitor his bowling at its part. "We have high hopes from the pacer and believe he will surely get a chance in the national squad before the end of this year," he added.

He said as many as 16 teams would take part in the event. "The selectors will also be noting the performance of several other young and senior players from the tournament," he concluded.
