SIALKOT A Holland-based organisation has announced to voluntarily chalk out a developmental plan for flourishing the Sialkot-based SMEs and modernizing them to enable them to meet the global trade challenges under the WTO regime. Addressing an important meeting of Sialkot business community held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here, senior expert Sjaak Vink (of Holland-based organization PUM) highly hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot and said that there was no doubt to say that the Sialkot exporters have a great potential to explore and capture the new international trade markets by exporting their world class diversified traditional and non-traditional export items. He said that there was a dire need of putting Sialkot-based SMEs on modern lines. He said that PUM organization of Holland would soon chalk out of multiple developmental plan to flourish the Sialkot SMEs voluntarily. He said earlier this organization (PUM-Holland) was already working for the promotion and development of the SMEs in 70 different countries of the world. He said that there were bright opportunities of setting up joint ventures between the business community of Sialkot-Pakistan and Holland in different trade fields, as several companies of Holland were showing keen interest in this regard. He also vowed to make all out sincere efforts to boost mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Holland, saying that the time was ripe to further strengthen these mutual trade ties between the two countries. He pledged full support and technical assistance to ensure easy access of Sialkot business community to international trade markets. Sjaak Vink also visited several leading industrial units in Sialkot amid tight security. He was flanked by the SCCI officials. He witnessed the internationals standard craftsmanship of Sialkot-based artisans.
