The residence of Mohallah Rehmanpura caught a rapist red handed and handed him over to the A Division police after thrashing here on Thursday.

According to details, the accused identified as Maqsood, a resident of Shereen Wali Street Khalid Road went to see his relative woman residing in Chand Street in the same locality. When he was entering his relative’s house he came across a seven-year-old girl passing through the street. He bundled the girl and took her inside the house where he raped the girl. Hearing to her shrieks, neighbours and passers-by rushed to the girl’s rescue and caught Maqsood when he was trying to flee the scene. The people gathered at the scene started beating the rapist with fists, kicks and shoes and later handed him over to the police. The girl was admitted to DHQ Hospital in a serious condition. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, a couple and their two years son died in a road accident near Kalsian Morr Sargodha Road. The accident occurred when Arshad along with his wife Zubaida and two-year-old son Ali Zaib was on the way on Sargodha Road on a motorcycle. When they reached near Kalsian Morr a speeding tractor-trolley hit two-wheelers. Resultantly all of them sustained critical head injuries and died on the way to hospital. The Khanqah Dogran Police have started investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, seven minor school students were injured when a speeding school van overturned due to dense fog.

Rescue sources said that a van carrying schoolchildren overturned in Khanpur area of Sheikhupura due to low visibility caused of thick fog. Resultantly seven students, aged between five to 12 years were injured in the accident. The injured students were rushed to hospital where from two of them were referred to Lahore due to critical condition.
