ISLAMABAD - OUR STAFF REPORTER/INP - The security of National Strategic Assets is of prime importance, and will always be high in priority of Pakistan’s strategic programme, said Strategic Plans Division Director General Lt-Gen (r) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai on Thursday.

He was addressing Wing Award Ceremony of an elite group of Special Response Force and passing-out parade of a smartly turned-out contingent of Security Soldiers Basic Course (SSBC) at the SPD Training Academy. Senior officials of strategic commission and forces also witnessed the ceremony.

Kidwai said SPD had been assigned the duty of protecting the strategic assets of Pakistan, so the soldiers must discharge their duties with utmost commitment, sincerity and national pride. Kidwai lauded the performance of faculty members and the instructors and awarded prizes to trainees in different academic and training fields. He also praised the high level of the training imparted, dedication and motivation of the trainees. The newly inducted trainees will augment the existing special security force of SPD.

Later, the chief guest and other dignitaries witnessed an exhibition of state-of-the-art safety and security equipment of SPD. Highly skilled SRF troops demonstrated the physical manifestation of the emergency response and security concept.

Earlier, on arrival, the chief guest was received by SPD Security Director General Maj-Gen Muhammad Tahir.
