In collaboration with China, two nuclear power plants will be set up each in Ahmedpur East and Muzzafargarh, said MPA Qazi Adnan Farid.

To a question, the MPA stated that the Punjab government would release Rs250 million for the construction of a dual carriageway from Chowk Abbasia to Railway Station Dera Nawab Sahib via Chowk Munir Shaheed. He hoped that a sub-campus of Islamia University of Bahawalpur would be set up in Ahmedpur East within the next two years for which 25 acres of land will be acquired near Mehrabwala.

Regarding granting district status to tehsil  Ahmedpur East, he said that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah would soon convene the meeting of the committee constituted by Chief Minister Punjab which would submit its recommendations to Shahbaz Sharif in this regard.
