ISLAMABAD\LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi have demanded that the matter relating to blasphemous sketches should be raised at the international level.

In a joint statement, they said that OIC should play its role and Muslim countries will have to forge unity in their ranks over this matter.

Entire Muslim Ummah including Pakistan protesting against this occurrence, no words are strong enough to condemn and deplore it, they added.  They said that Islam is a peace loving religion, we have to make the point clear to the world that the Muslims are not extremists, the objective behind these blasphemous sketches was to challenge the honour of the Muslims.

We want to make it clear to the publishers of blasphemous sketches that the respect and honour of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) of Almighty Allah is safe and will always remain so forever, they added.

They further said that the PML-Q will stage protest outside the Senate, National and Provincial Assemblies and demanded that the magazine which has published blasphemous sketches should immediately be closed.

Islam is not a religion of promoting terrorism and teaches lesson of peace and brotherhood, they concluded.
