LAHORE The Directorate General of Health Services Punjab has sent 607 cases of medical officers to the Punjab Health Secretary for promotion from grade 17 to 18. These doctors that include 527 male and 80 female medical officers are likely to be promoted by June 30. Health Services Punjab DG Dr Muhammad Aslam Ch informed that 82 doctors were promoted in grade 18 during the last month. He said that the Health Department had directed all such assistant professors and senior registrars working in grade 17 in medical colleges and teaching hospitals to furnish their complete annual confidential reports (ACRs) for the last five years by June 26 to the Department so that their promotion cases could also be forwarded to the government. He further said that Punjab Health Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad had got special permission from the S&GAD for these promotions. The Health Department had directed all such doctors whose ACRs were incomplete through advertisements in the newspapers in April 2010 for submitting their ACRs, he added. Dr Aslam disclosed that the names of MOs with incomplete ACRs had been put on the website of the Department and they had been advised to send their complete documents to DGHS office, Cooper Road as early as possible for ensuring their timely promotion.
