ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the current budget is prepared keeping in view the public needs and with the aims to generate employment opportunities in the country by launching schemes in collaboration with private sector in the country. He was talking to Ministers and Parliamentarians who called on him at his Parliament House Chamber on Wednesday afternoon. Emphasising the need of coordination and diligence on the part of all the Ministries, the Prime Minister said that an efficient utilisation of budgetary allocation could meet the desired ends. He said that public departments should present themselves as role model as that would incite the private sector for more investment in the country, which would augment the governments efforts for economic betterment. The Prime Minister said that all the members of the Parliament should actively participate in the debate on budget and present proposals for further improvement. He said that the Government would welcome all such suggestions in the public interest. The Ministers briefed the Prime Minister about the functioning of their respective ministries. Those who called on the PM included Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Zahee-rulddin Babar Awan, Minister for Culture, Pir Aftab Shah Jilani, Parliamentary Secretary Health, Mehreen Bhutto, and MNA Yasmeen Rehman.
