LAHORE - Land mafia with the connivance of alleged Midh Ranjha Police Station, Sargodha, have been victimising a 70-year old man from the last 17 to 18 years in order to grab his two-canal land, the victim old man told The Nation. The victim Imdaad Ali, a resident of Jallib Village, Tehsil Kot Momin district Sargodha, approached The Nation and disclosed that some six accused wanted to grab his land considering him helpless in the society. He said the accused including Muhammad Akram, 60, Ghulam Raza, 30, Sher Mohammad son of Saleh, 55, Jahangir and Alamgir (sons of Sher Mohammad) and Sub-Inspector Zaffar Sheikh, maternal uncle of Alamgir, allegedly made several attempts to kill him. According to the victim, one among the accused namely Alamgir was also declared as a proclaimed offender in a case registered in Satellite Police Station, Sargodha, few months back. The SI Zaffar Sheikh is patronising the accused besides extending his sincere 'cooperation in grabbing my land, he further alleged. The old man said the accused once transferred his (Imdaads) land in their names by fraudulent means. And later the land was again transferred in Imdaads name on the court directives. But interestingly, the accused got stay orders of the decision and filed an appeal in Lahore High Court, which later referred the case again to the Bhalwal Court where the case is pending still. I have to answer to God and I know I am right. Let the court decide but the accused have been issuing me life threats and many times have also attempted for this purpose but fortunately I am safe, Imdaad Ali further said. Meanwhile, an alleged fake case was also registered by the accused on June 9 against Imdaad Ali and six other people - Abdul Khaliq, 35, Abdul Staar, 40, Waseem, 25, Mumtaz, 35, Shahbaz, 28 and Sajjad, 32 - who were still in jail. Interestingly, the accused were involved in harvesting the crop. Police sources privy to the development disclosed that Imadad Ali and other were being victimised by the accused with the help of the SI Zaffar Sheikh. Police sources said the accused also administered an objectionable injection to a woman, Parveen Bibi, 50, and a spouse of Mohammad Akram, in order to seek assistance in registering another FIR against Imdaad Ali but the doctors at Midh Ranjha Hospital flatly refused to furnish fake medical report. Furthermore, the main accused SI Zaffar and Alamgir have threatened him of serious consequences by maintaining that he would be killed if he approached the police or any other competent authority. The old man arrived in the City on Monday and submitted an application to the I G Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar, who reportedly issued orders on the sport to the Sargodha Regional Police Officer, Javed Islam, to take a punitive action against the responsible men. An on-duty deputy Muharar at PS Midh Ranjha, after listening about the case, suggested to contact the station house officer (SHO) Owais Gujjar for the findings regarding the said issue but the SHO switched off his mobile at given time when this scribe contacted him for police version. It is worth mentioning during this span of time, according to Imdaad, he has received another threat from the accused.
