RAWALPINDI National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed an application in an accountability court here on Wednesday to withdraw its two corruption references against Interior Minister Rehman Malik. The Court adjourned the hearing on the application till June 28. The sources informed TheNation that NAB Additional Prosecutor General Malik Muhammad Jamil Awan submitted the application under section 31-B of NAB Ordinance. It is stated in the application that NAB authorities have decided to withdraw the corruption references against Interior Minister Rehman Malik after reconsidering both the references, the sources further informed. One of the references against Malik was about his alleged involvement in receiving two cars from Toyota Motors as illegal gratification to expedite the purchase of official vehicles for FIA while he was serving as director FIA. The second reference was related to his alleged involvement in theft during a raid on a house in Lahore, the sources disclosed.
