ISLAMABAD Speaker National Assembly Dr Fahmida Mirza has suspended her Private Secretary Salamat Ali who was allegedly involved in petrol stealing case, while in another move Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal Kareem Kundi suspended Deputy Secretary Tariq Ayub Khakwani in an alleged housing society case. Both the officers Salamat Ali (grade 18) and Tariq Ayub Khakwani (grade 19) were suspended under rule 5(1)(i)(end)-1973, National Assembly sources told TheNation. Besides making inquiry committee, sources said, further investigation into the case has also been started. It may be mentioned here that the petrol was allegedly got issued against the vehicles being used by NA speaker during her absence from Islamabad, as fake sign was made for issuing the petrol. While in another case, Deputy Speaker National Assembly suspended Deputy Secretary Tariq Ayub Khakwani in alleged wrongdoing in National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society case. It would not be out of place to mention here that earlier Committee on House & Library had directed Deputy Commissioner Islamabad to verify the land purchased by the incumbent administration of National Assembly Employees Cooperative Housing Society. Reportedly, the committee also expressed its displeasure over the unruly attitude of Administrator of NA Employees Cooperative Housing Society with the committee member. Despite several attempts, DG Public Relations, NA Secretariat could not be contacted for his comments.
