ISLAMABAD: Pak-Afghan Parliamentary Friendship Group today expressed deep concern over rising tension on Torkham Border and called for resolution of all disputes through dialogue.

The Group which met here  in a resolution paid  rich tributes to the valour of martyred Maj. Jawad Chengezi and prayed for early recovery of all those injured in Torkham border skirmish.

The group emphasized that since the region is already suffering from the menace of terrorism and any tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan would only further the nefarious designs of forces which do not wish to see peace on both sides of the Durand Line.

The group further said that unless peace is restored on Pak-Afghan border, both the countries will continue to suffer the ordeal which they have been bearing for last many decades. The Group demands both Pakistani as well as Afghan government to act calmly and deal with the issues with extreme caution and as far as possible avoid provocative statements failing which the escalated tension may en flame the entire region.
