RAWALPINDI  - A case has been lodged on Friday against three unknown men for perpetrating the terrorist attack on a food outlet at DAV College Road, in the city, which had left 16 injured, mostly workers and passers-by on Thursday last.

City police registered the case under Sections 3/4 of the Explosives Act and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 324/427/15 against unidentified three attackers on the complaint of Muhammad Navid, the operator at Savor Food.

SHO Khalid Mehmood Satti has been appointed as investigation officer of the case.

The complainant, in his recorded statement, said that he was serving as operator in the food outlet when he saw three young boys parking a motorcycle in the parking lot outside the food outlet. As the unknown culprits left the scene, a huge blast occurred injuring 16 people and damaging the restaurant building and other vehicles parked nearby.

The SHO said that investigation has been launched with no arrest so far.

He said that both the owners of the food outlet have not yet nominated any body in the case. However, he believed that extortionists, who had earlier sent extortion slips and carried out attack on the residence of the owners of food outlet, could be behind this recent terror attack.
