Year 2016 ‘the lucky one’ for Huawei

LAHORE (PR): The year 2016 can be marked lucky in the history of Huawei smartphones. Recently, at the launch event of Nova smartphone in China, Huawei disclosed their mega achievement of having shipped more than 100 million smartphones worldwide since the beginning of this year. This is a huge score for Huawei and a reason for celebration.

Last year, Huawei shipped 100 million smartphones for the whole year, while now it has two months to set a new sales record. It is projected that with the launch of much anticipated “Nova Plus” in Pakistan, Huawei would surpass their expected sales record. In the past, Huawei has set growth records in Pakistan as well and its success worldwide continues to set new precedents in the tech industry.

With an ever increasing customer base and renewed innovations in its devices, Huawei has become one of the top picks for tech enthusiasts in Pakistan like many other countries.  “Quality is the integrity and lifeline of Huawei,” said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group. “Huawei employs the ‘craftsmen’s spirit’ to measure its products and ensure zero defects”. Thanks to its zero tolerance towards defective products and continued pursuit of innovation and quality, Huawei has earned its global success and widespread acclaim.

In the telecommunication equipment market, Huawei is already the world’s leading information and communication solutions provider. In the smartphone market, according to figures from market and user experience research consultancy GFK, Huawei’s global market share has stayed in the top three, while taking the lead in the Chinese market. More than 60% of Huawei’s revenue comes from the overseas market as its products are shipped to over 170 countries and regions.

 Thousands attend UMT’s IBCE 2016

LAHORE (PR): Over 150 companies and business firms representing 25 countries, 5 ambassadors of different countries, 80 CEOs of multinational companies and more than 90 national companies registered at UMT’s International Business Conference and Exhibition (IBCE-2016), including Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance, Board of Investment, Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, Ministry of Economy Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Health, International University of Japan, Istanbul University, Netsol Technologies and other institutions and organizations.

More than 15,000 visitors, particularly young entrepreneurs, flocked to the event. ILnur Cevic, Chief Advisor to the President of Turkey, Ms Margaret Adamson, Australian High Commissioner, Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT and Abid HK Shirwani, chief organizer inaugurated the event.

The conference provided a rare opportunity for extensive discussion on ‘leading business transformation’ for business, technology, entrepreneurship, diplomacy, cultural and educational challenges and innovation. Federal Minister for planning and reforms Ahsan Iqbal, provincial minister for industry Chaudhry Shafiq, Australian High Commissioner Ms Margaret Adamson, president LCCI Abdul Basit and SM Munir showed up for the inauguration session of the event. On the other hand, Nepalese, Portuguese and Italian ambassadors graced the concluding session. Rector of University of Management and Technology (UMT) Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad appreciated the role of national and multinational companies in economic development of the country.  Tevta, PCJCCI ink MoU

LAHORE (PR): China will send its master trainers to teach Chinese language in Tevta institutes. These trainers will teach Chinese language classes to general public in major cities across Punjab and business sector’s executives in Lahore. In this regard, MoU was signed between TEVTA and Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) here at TEVTA Secretariat.

Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Wang Ziha signed the MoU. Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, and Vice President PCJCCI Salah-ud-Din were also present at this occasion.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that with the establishment of CPEC, Chinese language is mandatory for all our youth and business community as well. In first phase, master trainers are being invited for limited time period and after that services of Chinese experts will be extended. This initiative will promote technical education and vocational training especially in economic sector across the province of the Punjab.

 UET Lahore hosts event

LAHORE (PR): A 2-day event titled “Satrangee 16”, organised by AKS UET Photography Society, concluded at main auditorium of University of Engineering & Technology Lahore.

Renowned personalities like director/actor Sarmad Sultan Khosat, Suhaib Pasha, Dr Ahmad Bilal, the only Pakistani having PhD degree in Film Studies, UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid, deans, director Student Affairs Prof Dr Asif Ali Qaiser, Faisal Akbar Awan, team of Savaa Teen Show and students participated in the event.

VC UET Lahore urged the youth to participate in all kinds of positive and personality building activities. He said that university’s life is full package of career building and socialization. Students gave different performances during the event. At the end, souvenirs were distributed among guests and students.

 Diabetes awareness walk

 LAHORE (PR): The only way to cure diabetes is healthy diet, exercise and constant monitoring of blood glucose level, says Wasim Akram.

In connection with World Diabetes Day, which is celebrated worldwide in November, an awareness ‘Talk and Walk’ event was organised at Allam Iqbal Medical College Lahore. The theme of the event was ‘screen and beat diabetes’. The programme was organized jointly by Allam Iqbal College and supported by a blood glucose monitoring meter brand.

The event was graced by legendary cricketer Waseem Akram, who himself is a diabetic patient since 1997 and played cricket till 2003. Special advisor to CM Punjab on Health Khawja Salman Rafique was the presidential gust. Dr Mahmood Shaukat, Principal Allam Iqbal Medical College, Professor M Arif Mehmood, Head of Medicine, Professor Khursheed Khan, Head of Endocrine Jinnah Hospital Lahore, also addressed the audience.

The event was hosted by Sohail Malik (Head of Diabetic Care - Roche) who informed the audience about their new products and services to improve the lifestyle of patients.
