ISLAMABAD - Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was doing politics on Panama Papers without any evidence and there was no contradiction in the statements of Sharif family in the matter.

Speaking in a private TV programme, she said that PTI, which vociferously raised the issue of Panama Papers , had failed to provide evidence to the Supreme Court

bench hearing the case.

She said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children had submitted their replies to the Supreme Court. She said that earlier Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had suggested formation of a Parliamentary Committee to review documents and evidence and probe the matter of Panama Papers . But PTI refused to do it as it knew that the case was without substance and it would lose an opportunity to do politics on it, she said.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the Opposition was trying to make letter of Qatari Prince controversial, adding, that the letter had been made part of the Supreme Court proceedings, and if anybody had doubt about it, he could challenge its legality before the apex court.

To a question, she said that it was legal right of a client to submit documents before the court by choosing time of its own.

PTI should state things which it could prove and should not become a laughing stock before people of the country, she added.

She asserted that there was no contradiction in the statements made by the Prime Minister and his children, and if anybody had doubts he should approach the court.

To another question, Marriyum clarified that Sharif family made investment with a Qatari family and later flats in London were purchased with proceeds of that investment.

Marriyum said that it was not for the first time that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was boycotting the Parliament rather it had a history of three years to act in a similar manner on important occasions.

She said that Pakistan has good relations with Turkey and China, which have made substantial investments in the country.

PTI has persistently boycotted important events of Pakistan and put hurdles in the visit of Chinese President when he wanted to make a visit for starting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, she added.
