ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Navy (PN) rescue teams yesterday rescued 39 people who were injured in an accident near Zero Point, Ormara, PN spokesperson said.

The injured were immediately shifted to Pakistan Navy hospital PNS Darmanjaah at Jinnah Naval Base Ormara, where they were provided necessary medical treatment.

The accident occurred in early hours on Sunday, when a passenger bus collided with an ambulance near Maneyjee check post, almost 14 km away from Ormara. The ill-fated bus was on its way from Karachi to Turbat.  On getting information, the PN rescue teams along with civil administration reached the scene of incident to evacuate and provide first aid to the injured. As many as 39 injured persons were shifted to the PN hospital for immediate medical aid while about 34 passengers, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged after necessary treatment.

Later, five severely injured were shifted to Karachi via Pakistan navy and civil ambulances. Local populace has highly appreciated the prompt rescue effort by Pakistan Navy which has resulted in saving of many precious human lives.
