KARACHI -  Police on Sunday recovered three missing girls while the investigators said that the case was not kidnapping as the girls left their homes on their wishes over the domestic disputes.

According to details, three school girls aged between 14 to 15 years student of class 9th at a private school in Saudabad locality of District Malir had gone missing on Friday. The incident came into notice when their parents reached the Saudabad police station and staged a protest over the missing of the girls on Friday night.

The police then registered a case of kidnapping at the Saudabad police station and initiated further investigations.  All the three girls are the residents of the same area and are neighbourers to each other. Their parents said that their daughters went to the school on Friday morning as per routine but could not return to homes, adding that they informed the police after the families were unable to find them.

Police also sought help with the officials of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), a specialized unit of the Karachi police which deals with the kidnapping cases and Citizens Police Liaisons Committee (CPLC) to trace and recover the missing girls.

As per details given by families that they dropped them to school on time but according to school management, they all were absent, so family started to protest and blocked the roads.

The families concerned were highly disturbed. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, IGP Sindh Allah Dino Khowaja and CPLC chief Zubair Habib took active part for recovery of school girls and the citizens were anxiously following the case on media.

CPLC chief said that after the report both CPLC and AVCC teams immediately started to work for recovery of school girls and detained few suspects during raids in different localities. Finally the teams tasked recovered all the three girls from Liaquatabad neighbourhood from where they were living with some family, he added.

He further said that it was not a kidnapping case as girls left their homes with their own wishes over domestic disputes. He said that the recovered girls remained in custody of the police for interrogations. Their families appreciated and thanked for the untiring efforts of both CPLC and AVCC police teams.

Terrorist arrested

Anti-terrorism cell in Karachi arrested a terrorist on Sunday from Site area.

Special team of Counter-Terrorism Department detained the terrorist and also recovered weapons from him.

The terrorist belonging to Swat was hiding in Site police station area. A hand-grenade and weapons were confiscated from the possession of the terrorist.

The terrorist is a member of commander bin Ameen group of TTP in Swat.

He is involved in attacks on security forces in Swat.
