lahore :  our staff reporter  - On the direction of Director General Excise and Taxation (E&T), Hamayun Mazhar, E&T property Tax department has started grand operation against farm houses and sealed 22 tax defaulter farm houses in the city on Wednesday.

Most of the farm houses were situated at Badian Road, Barki Hadyara and Raiwind Road. E&T tax team sealed Ahmad Farm House which was defaulter of Rs 520000 of property tax. Owner of Malik Laeeq-ur-Rehman farm house was defaulter of Rs 3 lacs, Tasneem Farm house of Rs 2.40 lacs, Javed Ahmad farm house of Rs. 4.80 lacs, Abbas Ali farm house of Rs 2.70 lacs, Dr. Mansoor-ul-Haq farm house of Rs 2.70 lacs, Gohar Tabassum farm hosue of Rs 1.35 lacs, Fareed farm house of Rs 2.70 lacs, Tarar farm hosue of Rs 66000, Khursheed farm house of Rs. 60000 and Yaqoob farm house was defaulter of Rs 1.20 lacs, said spokesman of E&T.

He said that campaign against these farm houses was launched on the direction of DG, E&T, Hamayun Mazhar and though these people were influential but their farm houses would be reopened only after payment of defaulted tax amount. An E&T inspector said that they had to face pressure while sealing these farm houses and telephone calls were made to them at that time from the influential circles but they rejected the calls and sealed these premises.
