The two-member team of European Union Election Observation Mission comprising Janno SIMM and Judith SZABO has arrived here on Wednesday to observe the process of general elections.

The team member called on DCO Najam Ahmad Shah and discussed the matters relating to the arrangement for conducting general election in the district. They said that they would observe the legal framework and its implementation, the work of election administration, election campaign activities, and the environment in which the election is being conducted.

The DCO welcomed the team and briefed them about the administrative support to the election commission of Pakistan and judiciary for the conducting free, fair and transparent election. He informed the details of satellite system which has been devised to check the violation of election code of conduct through geographical information system.  He assured the team of full cooperation by the district administration to observe the process of general election.

SEMINAR:  The Quality Enhancement Cell of The University of Faisalabad in collaboration with School of Physical Therapy, arranged a seminar on “Neuro Rehabilitation – Curiosity and Hope” in Saleem Campus on Wednesday.

Dr Mudassir Ahmed Sheikh, neuro rehabilitation expert, working at NHS, UK, was the resource person, while Dr Mohammad Iqbal Tahir, Advisor to Chairman BoG, was the chief guest on the occasion. The anchor persons were Ms Naila Kanwal, Lecturer School of Physical Therapy, and Ms Hadia, Student DPT.

The seminar was conducted in two sessions. The first session commenced with Dr Abdul Majeed, Director QEC, giving a brief introduction to the event and the resource person. The scientific session was on “Stroke Rehabilitation” with practical hands on valuable contribution to the knowledge of trainees of Physiotherapy at TUF. Resource person Dr Mudassar Ahmad Sheikh gave a comprehensive lecture on “Neuro Rehabilitation- Curiosity and Hope”. This was followed by the Chief Guest’s remarks.

After the tea break, the guests reassembled to join in the second session of the seminar. Dr Mudassir Ahmed then conducted an interactive session on “Stroke Rehabilitation”. The program ended with Prof Dr Faqir Hussain, Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, delivering a vote of thanks to the august audience. The resource person was presented with University memento and gifts. The seminar was attended by large number of students and faculty remembers.
