PESHAWAR - Five persons were killed and seven other were injured when US predator targeted a house on border region between South Waziristan and North Waziristan on Wednesday.

Local sources said that US drone fired 12 missile on a house situated in Obara village of South Waziristan Agency. The attack resulted in the killing of five suspected militants, besides injuring seven others. Locals shifted the injured to the hospital.

An official in Wana, the main town in South Waziristan, confirmed the attack and said that drone targeted hideouts of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

Pakistan repeatedly condemned US drone campaign, considering it a violation of sovereignty and counterproductive but the CIA continued its attacks inside Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that US drone attacks in Pakistan have killed up to 3,587 people in last eight years, which include most of the civilian people.

UN special rapporteur on counter-terrorism and human rights envoy Ben Emmerson, who visited Islamabad last month as part of an investigation into civilian casualties caused by drone strikes, said the US drone attacks violated Pakistan's sovereignty.

According to Britain's Bureau of Investigative Journalism, CIA drone attacks in Pakistan have killed up to 3,587 people since 2004, up to 884 of them civilians.
