LAHORE: The Customs Health Care Society team, headed by Dr Asif Mehmood rushed to the flood-affected areas on August 9, along with medicines and relief goods, said spokesman of the society on Saturday. The team visited Rajanpur, Jampur and Rojhan from August 10 to August 16 where the paramedical staff of the team treated over 2,200 patients and distributed food and other goods among 250 families. The team members also took part in the rescue activities. Dr Asif told The Nation that skin diseases, gastroenteritis, ear, eye and chest infections, malaria and typhoid are spreading in the areas at an alarming rate, but no appropriate measures have been taken by the government. –Staff Reporter
