LAHORE: American Consul General Nina Marie Fite called on Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar at the Governor House on Saturday and discussed the matters of mutual interests. The governor said the Pak-US relations are based on mutual respect and are getting stronger day by day. “Peace in region is imperative to achieve peace in the world, hence cohesive relations between the countries of South Asia are vital. All the countries in this region are facing similar problems. We can overcome poverty, illiteracy and terrorism by promoting education. This will have a positive effect on the political side as well as the socio-economic sector, he said.  Nina congratulated Sarwar on assuming the new responsibility.–Staff Reporter
