ISLAMABAD - PAF defeated Army in the to lift 21st National Ski Championship while Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts clinched Shah Khan Ski Cup at PAF Ski Resort, Naltar. Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners. More than 50 athletes, representing nine ski associations from across the country contested for awards in this exhilarating extreme sport for three days.

The chief guest in his speech commended the efforts of Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP) for arranging this exciting sport for young Pakistani enthusiasts. At the same time, he advised the winners of the competitions to uphold the momentum of their winning spree and should not rest on their laurels. He said demonstrating such an excellent standard of skiing in the country without appropriate ski infrastructure and facilities depicted there was no dearth of talent in Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that two new events Inter-Services Ski Championship and Chief of the Air Staff Open Championship have been added in the Ski calendar for the first time in Winter Season-2013. The Air Chief, who is also the Patron-in-Chief SFP, assured that PAF and Ski Federation would provide budding skiers with all possible training and infrastructure facilities within means.
