LAKKI MARWAT -The district chapter of Wahdat-e-Asateza (teachers association) has demanded of the provincial government to extend benefits of the upgradation and promotion policy to Qari teachers and award them BPS-16.

The demand was made at a meeting held in Government Centennial Model High School Lakki city on Sunday.

WA President Maulana Tameezud Din presided over the meeting while among others tehsil chapter President Abdul Wahid, General Secretary Amir Sultan, Finance Secretary Fareed Ahmad, Press Secretary Anwar Sadiq and all certified teachers association’s Divisional General Secretary Yaseen Khan attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Maulana Tameez and other teachers’ leaders said that Arabic and Theology teachers who have passed matriculation with third division should also be promoted to BPS-16. They said that a high level meeting of teachers’ bodies had been convened on Feb 26 to chalk out a strategy for taking up the up gradation case of Qari teachers with higher authorities concerned.

“The teachers’ organization will also request the high ups of provincial government to award BPS-16 to those Arabic and theology teachers who did matriculation with third division”, they maintained. They hailed the promotion of primary schoolteachers to BPS-15 and urged local authorities of elementary and secondary education department to order posting of newly promoted head teachers in the schools of their respective union councils. “Many newly promoted head teachers have been posted in the schools of far-flung localities in violation of the union council policy”, they told.   They said that the head teachers would be able to perform their professional obligations with dedication if they were posted in the schools of their home union councils.
