SHEIKHUPURA/BAHAWALNAGAR/MINCHINABAD - Six persons including a woman were killed and 14 others injured in different incidents of violence and road accidents over the past 24 hours.

As per detail, in Sheikhupura a landlord was shot dead during a dacoity in the limit of Muridke City Police here. Inayat Ali, a resident of Shah Colony was asleep in his house along with family members. In the meantime six armed dacoits barged into the house after scaling boundary wall. The bandits took hostage the family members and collected cash, cellphones, gold ornaments and other valuables at gunpoint. Meanwhile, Inayat attempted to overpower them at which the dacoits fire gunshots, killing him on the spot.

In another incident, a man was crushed to death in a road mishap in the remit of the remit of Ferozewala Police. The man whose identity could not be confirmed yet was hit by a speeding truck when he was crossing GT Road near Ferozewala. Rescue 1122 took him to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The Ferozewala Police started search for family of the deceased.

Similarly, a woman lost her life while her husband, daughter and a relative got severe injuries in an accident on Faisalabad Road near Ferozewattwan on Sunday.  According to details, four family members were going on a motorcycle to Manawala from Nowshera Virkan when near Ferozewattwan a recklessly driven trailer hit the two-wheeler. Resultantly 30-year-old Saima Bibi died instantly while her husband Saeed, daughter Eman Fatima and a relative Imran received critical injuries. The injured were taken to DHQ Hospital by Rescue 1122. On the other hand, the Bhikhi Police arrested the trailer driver and impounded the vehicle.

In MINCHINABAD, a villager identified as Muhammad Iqbal was killed while his companion Muhammad Ahmad injured seriously when a speeding car hit their donkey-cart. The police registered a case against the driver. In another incident, two teen bikers injured in a collision here at Madni Market Minchinabad. One of the riders, 17-year-old Muhammad Imran suffered fractures on a leg while 19-year-old Muhammad Abid got serious head injuries. They were rushed to DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar from where Abid was referred to Mao Hospital Lahore due to his critical condition.

Meanwhile, in BAHAWALNAGAR, two persons were killed while six sustained serious injuries in a collision between a bus and van here on Sunday. The accident occurred when a passenger bus LR-3690, returning from Multan, collided with a Bahawalpur-bound van near Anwar Kot stop, some 8-km away from here.

Resultantly, Allah Rakha and Mohammad Siddique were killed on the spot, while Yasin, Abdul Shakoor, Naseem Bibi and Sharifan Bibi sustained serious injuries. Rescue 1122 rushed the injured to DHQ Hospital. The City Police also rushed to the spot and started investigation.
