KARACHI - A clash took place on Thursday between the law-enforcement agencies and the lawyers when the black coats tried to forcibly enter the pre-mises of Sindh High Court wh-ere Chief Justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar was addressing a ceremony. As per detail, the CJP was present at the SHC in connection with the distribution of computers, when the angry lawyers of Karachi Bar Association gathered around the building and tried to barge into the premises. But the police and rangers prevented them to enter the building, which resulted in a clash between the law-enforcement agencies and the lawyers. The police also arrested a numbers of protesting lawyers including KBA secretary general, Naeem Qureshi. Earlier, talking to newsmen, Naeem Qureshi said the lawyers had staged a peaceful protest against the CJP Dogar and for the restoration of deposed judges but the police resorted to baton-charge without any provocation. He added that lawyers would continue their movement till the reinstatement of deposed judges. Later, it was learnt that the arrested lawyers were released without being charged in any case but this report could not be confirmed. Earlier, addressing the ceremony Chief Justice Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar said that delay in disposing of cases, due to lack of judges, was causing severe hardships for the people. The CJP said that he would soon ask the government to fill the existing vacancies of judges at all levels.
