ISLAMABAD (PR) - Pakistan No. 1 Sarah Mahboob Khan/Miles Sezer (Turkey) beat Indian pair of Naruka Shilpa/Zainab Sajjad Ali in the pre-quarter final of girls doubles Sarah and partner took a swift lead of 3-1 in the first set but the Indian players fought back and leveled the score at 3-all and then led 5-3. At this stage Sarah/Miles played some outstanding cross-court and down the middle shots to level the score at 5 games all.  Sarah used her first serve wide and up the T and took a 6/5 first set lead.  Alert as they were, they broke Naruka's serve to take the first set 7/5. In the second set Sarah and her partner served well and took the second set 6/1. Final score was Sarah Mahboob Khan/Miles Sezer (Turkey) beat Naruka Shilpa/Zainab Sajjad Ali (India) 7/5, 6/1.   Earlier, in her first round match against an Egyptian player Mora Eshaque, Sarah was one winning strike away to win. The match started on a positive note for Sarah who took the first set 6/2, and built up a 3/1 and 40-15 serving lead. However, the Egyptian girl fought back and took the second set 6/4.  In the third and deciding set, Sarah was down 0-2 but played some outstanding shots to not only level the match but took a 4-2 commanding third set lead. At this stage Sarah lost her concentration and allowed Mora to fight back to take 5/4 lead and serving for the match.  However, Sarah broke back and held her own serve to take a 6/5 lead but the impatience to close out the match caused her to lose this game and the score was 6 games all. In the final set tiebreak Sarah again took a 4-2 commanding lead and then 6-4 with two match points. Mora was looking down the barrel with two match points down. At this stage one bad bounce one net cord, one lucky inside-out forehand winner by Mora, and one unforced error by Sarah enabled Mora to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. "I am trying very hard here. I am in the quarter final of the girls doubles and will try my best to win it, said Sara. ITF Amman Circuit 2:  July 27-August 1, 2008. 7th Mohafaza ITF World Junior Ranking Championships: Mahboob fought very well in her singles match against an Indian girl, Garima Watwani in blistering conditions in Damascus, but lost 1/6, 6/7. In fact, she was very close to winning the second set and pushing the match in the third set where Sarah would have an upper edge but she was just short of two points.
