QUETTA - Federal Industries and Production Minister Manzoor Watto on Friday said that on the recommendations of the provincial government, industrial projects worth of Rs 3 billion will be started in Balochistan. He was addressing a Press conference accompanied by Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani at CMs Secretariat. The minister said that the incumbent government did not believe in rhetoric and mere announcements rather it was keen to take serious steps for the development and prosperity of Balochistan. Gwadar has been declared a tax-free zone and this is a big project which will not only benefit the coming generation of Balochistan but will also play a pivotal role in bolstering economy of the country, he added. He said that Federal Industries and Production Ministry was taking special interest in Balochistan to boost small industries to overcome unemployment. He said the ministry was spending its 60 per cent of budget in Balochistan which would bring tangible changes in the province. Wattoo said that there were many areas in province, which were lacking utility stores and informed that utility stores would be established in these areas where the educated youth of the province would be accommodated. He informed that stone processing zone has been made functional in Balochistan and this industry has been harmonised with all modern needs. Marble city will be set step in outskirts of Quetta so that the profit of minerals could be spent on the prosperity of the people of Balochistan, he added. He assured that the resources of Balochistan would be spent on the welfare and well being of its people and added that neither foreign exchange would go to Islamabad nor to Lahore. He said that the federal government was also paying heed towards agriculture sector in Balochistan and projects of five agro industrial parks would be set up in different areas after consultation with the provincial government which also provide jobs to the youth. Federal ministers Humayun Aziz Kurd, Ayatullah Durrani, provincial ministers - Mir Asim Kurd Gilo, Syed Eshan Shah and others were also present on the occasion.
