I am an O-level student and an ardent newspaper reader and hence have a vigilant eye on whatever goes on around me. It is shocking to see how our government is blatantly fleecing its own common citizens. A few days back I received an SMS stating, "Dear customer, we will deduct Rs 50 from your account for Prime Minister's Anti-Terrorism Fund. If you wish to donate this amount to end terrorism reply with Y. If you don't, put in an N". Since my family had already donated a reasonable sum, I replied with an N but the charges for that one SMS reply turned out to be Rs 21.32 including tax. This is most unfair. I request authorities to take notice and instruct the telecom companies to reimburse Rs 21.32 to all customers who said no to the query. -IBRAHIM ZUBAIRI, Karachi, July 15.
