PESHAWAR – The newly appointed Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, President Syed Qasim Shah has said that the provincial cabinet of the party will be constituted after formal consultation with the party workers.

“I prefer to consult all senior members and then constitute party’s provincial cabinet,” he said. He dispelled the impression that PML (Q) has been limited to Hazara division alone. PML-Q, he said, has deep roots in KPK. However, there is a need to further activate workers across the province.

He further said that he would try his level best to make the party strengthened and more effective in the province.

Talking to media personas here at a local hotel soon after presiding over a consultative meeting with the party’s senior members, he said that he was associated with PML from the day one and never opted to become provincial president of the party.

However, after reposing confidence in him by the PML (Q) President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and General Secretary Mushahid Hussain Syed, he accepted the offer. He resolved that he would work day and night to further strengthen the party in the province.

Flanked by Minister for State Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf and Hanif Jadoon, he said that he would hold meetings with party’s senior members and workers as how to make the party further effective.

If failed in doing so, he would not hesitate to resign from the provincial presidentship of the party, he added.

He said that his party has been opposing US drone attacks from the begging.  “Indeed, we are in government, but we still oppose it” he explained.

On this occasion, Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf said that leaving the party by some would not affect party at all.

“We will strengthen the party from Dera Ismail Khan to Chitral.”
