The teachers across the district continued protest against the arrest of Muttahida Isataza Mahaz (MIM) leaders in Lahore due to which teaching activities badly affected in all government schools.

It is to be noted that MIM leaders have been protesting in front of Punjab Assembly and Chief Minister’s House in Lahore for the acceptance of their demands. During the protest, the police arrested MIM Patron-in-Chief Rana Sultan Muhammad Akhtar who belongs to Layyah and others leaders.

Unhappy with the government tyrannical attitude, the teachers from across the district took out a rally that marched through all the main road of the city, demanded the government to accept their demands forthwith. The rally participated by members and office bearers of the Punjab Teacher Union (PTU), the Educators Association (EA) and the Apca shouted slogans against the indifference and negligence of the government and held the bureaucracy responsibly for the declining standard of education. They warned that the teaching community would be constrained to shut all school if the government did not accept their demands and released the arrested MIM and other teachers associations leaders and office bearers.
