ISLAMABAD - The appointments of retired army officers in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) have been challenged in the Supreme Court on Monday with the prayer to declare them null and void.

The petitioner Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi contended in his application that the officers on deputation were against the law and were promoted which is the sheer violation of the NAB rules.

In his petition he made Sindh government and the previous chief secretaries and the secretary Services and General Administration Sindh as respondents. He contended the appointments in the NAB were made in violation of the Supreme Court judgments.

The petitioner stated that Col (retd) Subeh Sadiq, Lt-Col (retd) Shehzad Anwar Bhatti, Major (retd) Masood Ahmed, Major (retd) Shabir Ahmed and Squardon Leader should have retired from their services in the Pakistan Army but they retired while remaining in the NAB.
