KARACHI-Encounter specialist SSP Rao Anwar would be reinstated on the slot, get the clean chit from the ruling government leadership remains in abroad, The Nation learnt on Monday. Sources privy to the matter revealed SSP Rao Anwar suspended after he arrested MQM opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan while challenging the write of ruling government and not even bothered the directives of police high ups.

Sources said that notification ahead of the comeback of SSP Rao would issue soon by Sindh Government.  Sources said that Rao left for Dubai to settle the issue with the top leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and got the clean chit.

An inquiry team lead by District South police chief DIG Azad Khan was also constituted against Anwar for misusing the authorities, however, the inquiry committee’s findings have yet to be public by the police department.

Following the suspension, SSP Rao promoted out of turn talking to the media passed remarks against the Sindh government and police high ups and warned to leave the police force. On September 19, Rao Anwar challenged the decision in the Sindh High Court, maintaining that the raid was conducted in accordance with the law. The same day Javed Akbar Riaz was appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir.

SSP Rao promoted on the executive orders of the former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari against the ruling of apex court ahead of the demotion of all officers promoted out of turn.
