ISLAMABAD: Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) are effectively following a comprehensive strategy to complete the ongoing development projects in the Federal Capital in stipulated time.

Member Administration, Muhammad Suleman Warraich expressed these views while briefing the delegation of participants of 22nd Senior Management Course from National Management College on the eve of their study tour to CDA Headquarters.

The participating officers were from various civil service groups including Pakistan Administrative Service, Pakistan Police Service, Secretariat Service, Information group, Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service, Foreign Service of Pakistan, Pakistan Custom Service, Inland Revenue Service, Railway group, Postal Service, Provincial Service and senior officers of Ex-Cadre.

On the occasion, Member Planning and Design, Member Finance and officers of different formations of the Authority were also present.

Briefing the delegation, Member Administration, Muhammad Suleman Warraich said that on the directions of Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz, some development projects of immense importance have been completed; adding that development work on other mega projects would be started soon to meet the future requirements of city.

He apprised the delegation that on taking over the responsibilities of development of the Federal Capital to the newly elected representatives of the local government, Mayor MCI and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz has formulated a comprehensive strategy under which priority would be given to the requirements, opinions and suggestions of the residents of the city for future planning and development.

He informed that Prime Minister of Pakistan fulfilled his pledge, adding that for the first time in the history of Islamabad, Metropolitan Corporation came into being as result of newly elected local government representatives have been given the responsibility of development of the city.

To ensure transparency and merit in CDA, he said that the present regime has taken effective measures in this regard. He added that transparency and merit are the major components to bring stability in the institutions.

He said that priority is being given to development of sectors, adding that besides development of new sectors, development works in stalled sectors have also been restarted. While effective monitoring system has been made to ensure timely completion of these development projects, Member Administration said.
