RAWALPINDI - Police have recovered a woman abducted for the ransom of Rs 5 million and arrested three accused involved in the alleged heinous crime. City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Rao Muhammad Iqbal revealed this in a press conference held in his office here on Tuesday. SSP (Operations) Yasin Farooq, SP Potohar Rana Shahid, DSP Civil Line Mujahid Hussain and other police officials were also present on the occasion. Extending the details of the case, CPO told that Barrister Saqib Awan lodged a complaint on August 13 with the Police Station (PS) Airport stating that his wife Mariam Saqib along with the driver went to her mother home in Chaklala Scheme III and later went to market for shopping but did not return. The barrister further informed the police that he tried to contact his wife on her cellphone but failed as the cell was switched off. Then he called on the cellphone of his driver but his mobile also did not respond. Later, he received a call from his wifes mobile and some unknown accused demanded five million rupees as ransom for the safe release of his wife. In his complaint, he suspected that his driver had kidnapped his wife.
