LAHORE Although former SHO Shahdara Sharif Sindhu has been removed and SHO Maqsood Gujjar has taken the charge but there is no remedy to the miseries of the local residents. Recently, an FIR (2675/11) under section 352, 380 and 452 of PPC was lodged against SHO Maqsood Gujjar and SI Aleem Khan allegedly in famous police torture case in Lower Mall police station, several months back. Arshad Abbas Shah, a resident of Imamia Colony, accused that former SHO Sharif Sindhu, current SHO Maqsood Gujjar, SI Aleem Khan and other police officers were harassing him. According to the application, which he submitted for registration of FIR, the SHO flanked by his police team barged their entry into his home, thrashed his family members including females, and fled after looting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth thousands of rupees. He further maintained that the police officers held hostage his son namely Zain Abbas Shah and threatened him of dire consequences in case he (the victim) approached the court for justice. However, the victim family approached the court and sought orders for registration of FIR. Unwillingly, DIG Dogar ordered City Police Division SP Operations to lodge FIR against SHO Maqsood Gujjar and SI Aleem Khan with clear cut directions that FIR should be discharged with due course of time, an established police source said.
