Our Staff reporter NAROWAL - The Narowal Police killed a man in an alleged shootout in village Muslim Dogar in the remit of Saddar Police while the villagers and family members of the deceased staged a strong protest against the incident in front of the DPO Office. Reportedly, the police claimed that a joint team, comprising of the Saddar and Rayya Khas police personnel raided the house of one Muhammad Amin in village Muslim Dogar to arrest him as he was wanted to the police in several criminal cases. The police claimed that Muhammad Amin opened fire at the police personnel in bid to escape which was returned by the police. Resultantly he sustained bullet wounds and Muhammad Amin got bullet injuries and died on the spot. On the other hand, Muhammad Abrahim, father of the deceased, claimed that the police raided his house late in the night at about 4:00am and took Amin with them. He said that the police killed him in the village. He pointed out that his son was accused of a murder case but they had reached a settlement with the aggrieved party in that case and therefore Amin was not wanted by the police. He also alleged that the police also tortured him, his wife, daughters and the wife of Amin. He alleged that the police had murdered his son after arresting him from his house. He demanded registration of criminal case against the police personnel for killing his son. Following the incident, the deceaseds family members along with a large number of villagers staged a protest and chanted slogans against the alleged high handedness of the police. DSP (Headquarters) Muhammad Amin Butt told that Muhammad Amin was a proclaimed offender and was wanted by the police in 14 different criminal cases. DPO Malik Sikander Hayat has ordered an inquiry into the incident. He said that stern legal action would be taken against any police officials found at fault in the inquiry.
