LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that a network of development projects is being laid throughout the province and transparent and timely completion of these projects is being ensured. The chief minister said this during his visit to review the pace of implementation of various ongoing development projects in the provincial metropolis, here on Sunday. Members Provincial Assembly, Secretary Communication & Works, Commissioner Lahore, Chairman Chief Ministers Inspection Team and senior officers of NESPAK and National Logistic Cell (NLC) were also present on the occasion. Shahbaz said service to the masses was mission of the government and all out resources of the province were being utilised for the welfare of the masses and provision of basic amenities to them. He said that the Lahore Ring Road Package-15 will be inaugurated on December 25 whereas the project of widening of Lahore Canal Road will be completed by January 15 and the project of Muslim Town flyover by March 23. Shahbaz said that quality, transparency and timely completion of development projects was the top priority of his government and the culture of working during night on development projects had been promoted and work was being carried out round the clock on ongoing development projects. He said that Kalma Chowk flyover, Ring Road, Madar-e-Millat Road and other development projects were unique example of quality and transparency and these could an be compared confidently with those in developed countries. He said that work was also going on speedily round the clock on the project of Muslim Town Canal flyovers on Ferozepur Road and these projects will be completed in stipulated time. Similarly, the work is also being carried out on the project of widening of Canal Road rapidly, he said, adding that due to additional work, there has been some delay in the project. However, the project will be completed by January 15 as a result of which best travelling facilities would be available to the people and the flow of traffic will also improve. He also directed to consider the construction of service roads on both sides of the canal from Thokar Niaz Baig to Jallo Mor and evolve a plan in this regard. While expressing dissatisfaction over the quality of work of fencing wall over Ring Road, the CM said that the resources were the trust of the nation and warned that wastage of these resources cannot be tolerated. He directed Commissioner Lahore to take strict action against those involved in substandard work of fencing wall on Ring Road. He showed his strong indignation over the debris lying on Slip Road at Quenchi Chowk on Ferozepur Road, and said that any accident could occur due to debris and it was the responsibilities of the concerned departments to remove it immediately. He also directed to take strict action against those showing negligence in removing the debris. Secretary Communication & Works, Commissioner Lahore and Sector Incharge of NLC informed about the progress of various projects. City Traffic Police officer informed that 100 traffic wardens had been posted during the work on the project of Muslim Town flyover and the citizens will not face any traffic problem. Earlier, the CM visited ongoing development projects in the provincial metropolis on Sunday as usual for more than three hours. He started his visit from Nawaz Sharif Interchange, Ring Road Package 15 and reviewed the quality of work there. After the inspection of fencing wall on Ring Road, he reviewed the pace of work on the projects of widening of Canal Road and Muslim Town flyovers. During the visit of development projects of Chief Minister, people gathered everywhere. They paid rich tributes to the Chief Minister on the quality and timely completion of development projects and said that they pray from the core of their hearts for Shahbaz Sharif on the public welfare projects. Residents of Muslim Town expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab on the excellent project of Muslim Town flyovers said that best travelling facilities would be available to the citizens on completion of this project and will also rid the people of traffic jam.
