PESHAWAR - Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Shaukatullah has said that a bright future for Pakistan can be ensured by providing all possible modern education facilities to the young generation.

He stressed that education was essential to the solution of the problems being faced by the country and achievement of goals of rapid national development.

He remarked that the future of the country depended upon the youth. So the government has decided to spend handsome amount to facilitate the education sector on priority. He announced free laptops for the talented students of FATA and said that all intelligent students will be awarded by free laptops on merit. He was addressing the award ceremony of merit certificates to the talented students of FATA under the project "Quality Education Opportunities for Talented Students of Baluchistan and FATA" at the Governor House Peshawar on Tuesday.

Secretary SSD FATA Sardar Muhammad Abbas, Director FATA Noorullah Khan, Project Director FATA Hakim Jan, educationists, teachers, Officials of FATA secretariat, parents and a large number of students were also present on the occasion. The governor congratulated the students for getting awards on merit, which speaks volumes of their hard work, competency and commitment. He distributed the certificates of merit among the talented and position holder students of FATA in different educational institutions across the country on the occasion.

The governor announced doubling scholarships for talented students from FATA under the governor's directive scholarships scheme and assured that the quota for students will also be increased under the President/Prime minister's scheme "Quality Education Opportunities for Talented students of Baluchistan and FATA".

He directed all the officials concerned to facilitate the process for a bright future of talented students of FATA and said that funds for this special initiative will be provided through FATA Annual Development Program.

He said FATA students' stay in other provinces would go a long way in developing unity and love among the people of other provinces and Federal Administered Tribal Areas. "These FATA students will become representative of other provinces and serve as a bridge between the people living in FATA and rest of the country," he further added.
