ISLAMABAD - Leader of opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said the PML-N government should also think about its second option (operation) due to fast increasing incidents of terrorism in different parts of the country.

“Keeping in view of the fast increasing incidents of terrorism, the government should now think about the second option,” said Opposition leader talking to newsmen here.

Commenting on the peace talks, Shah said that the peace talks between government negotiators and TTP’s nominated committee have failed to produce any result.

“Our repeated efforts for peace seem fruitless,” he said, adding that the TTP faction has sabotaged the process by the continued admission of attacks. He further said that TTP should release prisoners as a token of their sincerity in peace talks.

The PPP leader asked the government to take decision in the national interest of the country as such attacks are not acceptable at any cost.

He said that the purpose of peace talks was to create peace in the country but the committee has failed to achieve its goal.

To a question, he said that they have given mandate to the PML-N government to opt for either talks or option. “We would support government’s decision,” he said and also strongly denounced the recent attacks on military officials.

He said that PM’s first part of the statement on dialogue gives the impression of an operation while the second part is about dialogue.

To a question about the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s recent statement, he said this statement showed his political immaturity. He further asked Imran to clarify his statement.
