The biggest question for Misbah Ul Haq and the management of the Pakistani cricket team is what team to select for the upcoming matches. After two matches against New Zealand, couple of warm up games and a match against India, they are still failing to find the best combination in the team. The entire blame cannot be put on the selectors and management since we have had some unfortunate injury cases which have disrupted the balance we so badly needed in the playing 11. However, Sarfraz Ahmed was left out for the match against India while Umar Akmal was given the gloves behind the stumps. Not everyone saw this as the right move since Sarfraz is a specialist keeper and a more than handy batsman.

The problem in all of this is our star test batsman Younus Khan. All these elusive changes in the team are to accommodate him. He is probably the weakest link in the team right now. But his memorable performances in the test series against Australia and New Zealand and one century that he made in the ODIs against New Zealand in UAE have kept him in the team. He has failed to perform since. It seems like an easy solution then. Drop Younus Khan for the upcoming match, replace him with Sarfraz who will open the batting with Ahmed Shehzad and the team will also get their specialist keeper back. With just one change the team suddenly seems balanced. It will be quite a surprise if this change is not made for the upcoming match against West Indies on Saturday.
