KARACHI - The MQM has demanded the government to order probe into the alleged affiliation of the terrorists, involved in a deadly attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore, with the Jamaat-e-Islami headquarters. In a statement issued on Thursday, MQM Rabita Committee member, Saleem Shahzad, said that the arrested terrorist, Mohammad Zubair alias Naek Mohammad, involved in the attack on Sri Lankan Cricket team, has confessed that he had stayed at Mansoora, the JI headquarters, along with his other accomplices two days before the tragic and infamous incident. MQM leaders further said the detained terrorists had confessed that the mastermind of the attack on Sri Lankan team, Aqeel alias Dr Usman, arranged the residence for them and provided ammunition for the attack on Sri Lankan team. Saleem Shahzad said that Mansoora is the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami therefoe and demanded the government and security agencies to investigate the association of these terrorists with this party. He further urged the government to expose the real culprits and terrorists involved in the attack on Sri Lankan team and the brutal killings of innocent police personnel in this tragic incident. RABITA COMMITTEE FLAYS POWER BREAKDOWN; OBSERVES 'BALCK DAY TODAY MQM Rabita Committee has strongly criticised the massive power breakdown in the Sindh province as well in the metropolis and termed it an injustice to the citizens. The committee demanded President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Federal Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Governor and Chief Minister Sindh to take the stern action against the against the elements involved in this conspiracy. The MQM body also demanded high-level probe into the prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding in Sindh province and Karachi. Rabita Committee, in its statement, said that massive and incessant power outages had paralysed the routine life as business activities in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Ghotki, Sanghar, Larkana and other cities of the Sindh province. It further stated that on the one side people of Sindh are facing acute short of electricity while on other, MQM legislators are not being allowed to raise this issue in the Parliament. Meanwhile, the MQM has announced to observe 'black day on Thursday (today) across the country and to arrange Quran Khawani programme in the memory of the martyrs of June 19, 1992 army operation. Central programme of Quran Khawani will be held at Khursheed Memorial Hall Azizabad between Asar and Maghrib prayers. MQM Rabita Committee Members, party legislators in Senate and National and Sindh Assemblies, its office bearers and activists will participate in the programmes.
