RAWALPINDI - Chairman Metro Project, Hanif Abbasi has said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking keen interest for promoting sports and in this regard international standard cricket stadium, gym, swimming pool and hockey stadium will be constructed along Rawal Road Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 200 million. He was addressing the 1st Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Rawalpindi Inter UC’s Flood light tournament held at Government Postgraduate College for Boys, 6th Road.

Hanif Abbasi said sports are essential for physical and mental health of the youth and no one could deny its importance. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government is spending billions of rupees on education and health sectors and a number of mega projects had been completed within a short time, he added.

He said Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) had been completed which was capable of carrying out all kinds of surgeries and catering to the needs of the poor. Abbasi said that state-of-the-art urology hospital would be completed by June next year.

Among others, MPA Raja Hanif Advocate, Sardar Nasim, Maqbool Ahmed Khan, Arslan Hafeez, and a large number of athletes were present on the occasion.
