ISLAMABAD - Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT Chief Tahirul Qadri's nexus is once again bent upon disrupting economic achievements of the PML-N government, attained after 3 years of hectic efforts and prudent reforms.

"Due to prudent economic policies, reforms and economic stabilisation, achieved after three years of efforts, Pakistan has been declared as an emerging market by US based index provider Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCU), which is another achievement of the present government," Ahsan told journalists here on Saturday.

He said Pakistan had now achieved a status in the international market, and hoped that as a result of this success, the international investors would

invest in various sectors of Pakistan for the socio-economic development of the country. The minister informed that globally there were $1.7 trillion funds for investments, and if Pakistan succeeded in attracting even one percent of these funds, it would be a big foreign investment for the country.

He called upon all political parties to join hands with the government for further enhancing sustainable economic growth of the country.

Ahsan, however, regretted that whenever Pakistan received good news about its economic achievements, some elements started conspiring against the elected government by talking about dharnas (sit-ins).

He said such elements were afraid of the government's economic achievements and instead of supplementing it's efforts, they preferred playing with the interests of the country, just to save their political careers.
